Businessman Kwabena Darko established one of the largest poultry farms in Africa and extended his influence into many spheres of Ghanaian life. He ran for president hoping to translate his vision of leadership and governance into improving the lives of his countrymen. His unflinching commitment to integrity and faith remained a north star as he broke new ground in private enterprise as a poultry farmer, presidential candidate for the New Independence Party (NIP), and as a leader in organizations like Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship and Opportunity International. He was a casualty of unrelenting government policies that often stifled private enterprises.

Kwabena Darko survived persistent political pressure that disrupted budding international business relationships with Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) corporation, Tyson Foods, other major international brands. In business and also in his personal life, he lived through some of life’s harshest emotional letdowns, and still found a resolve to keep pushing.

At the heart of his pursuit was the determination to fulfill his life’s purpose, and to live unapologetically with God’s grace at the center of his every thought. A graciously intelligent man with an extraordinary perspective.
