ABOUT CHRISTIANA DARKO

Psalm 91.
"He is my refuge and my fortress; My God in Him I will trust "

Her influence went beyond the borders of Assemblies of God, Ghana, when she initiated the formation of the Women’s Aglow, Ghana. According to a tribute from Jane Hansen Hoyt, president and CEO of Aglow International, “Christiana heard the call of God on her life many years ago and responded to that call. She was a woman of deep faith and commitment to her God.

As a woman and a leader, Christiana, sought to bring godly influence in every area of her life.  Aglow benefited from her leadership and who she was in Christ. Christiana served Aglow for 27 years, beginning in 1985 as a Local president when she began the first Aglow Fellowship in Kumasi, Ghana. In 1987 she was appointed to the position of International Outreach Coordinator, and in 1989 became the International Outreach Director for Western Africa; a position she held until the time of her death.  Christiana served on the Aglow International Board of Directors for a term of nine years, from 1989 until 1998.

In 2006 she was elected by her peers to serve in the first Africa Committee, and served as committee chairman, and then, as committee treasurer. Christiana attended Aglow Worldwide Conferences, and Aglow National and Regional Conferences in many nations across Africa. Her presence was appreciated by those whom she served.”
